Wendy Aldiss

I have been a full time professional photographer for 19 years.   I won Kodak Portrait Photographer of the year 2000 in my first year of business and never looked back!  I’m still as inspired by photography now as I was then. My portrait photography business grew rapidly when my children were young.  I specialised in child and family portraits as my life was very much in that orbit at the time.  Over the last ten years wedding photography has become a large part of my work.  Now I find myself in the extraordinary and wonderful position of photographing the weddings of some of the children I photographed 15 years ago!

As in every other walk of life, the digital revolution has transformed photography; whilst I had my own darkroom and enjoyed developing my own images, so much more is possible nowadays - the process has changed but the eye hasn't!  Social media has also become  a huge force and we are made to feel that it's imperative to our success.  I hold the view that whilst it's nice to engage a little with social media, for me, the most important thing is to create beautiful work that people value and cherish.   Word of mouth and personal recommendation will always be important.

Capturing the moment is only part of the process as a creative eye in preparing images and producing a beautiful and high quality record of your wedding, event or portrait shoot is a well honed skill and my enjoyment of this aspect of my work is very important to me.

I'm an Associate member of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and a qualified Master Photographer (LMPA).  My work has been featured in magazines and newspapers both nationally and internationally, including Conde Nast Brides magazine and Mother & Baby magazine.  I'm also recommended by some of the UK’s leading wedding venues, Bijou Wedding Venues, Notley Abbey, Botley’s Mansion, Cain Manor, Stowe House, Chenies Manor and  Hampden House.
